Former Cincinnati headquartered Procter & Gamble chief executive and graduate of the U.S.
Military Academy at West Point,
Robert “Bob” McDonald was recently unanimously
confirmed by the U.S. Senate to be the 8th U. S. Secretary of Veteran Affairs.  McDonald
received a Senate confirmation vote of 97 to 0.

McDonald will take the helm of the Department of Veteran Affairs, which handles veterans'
benefits and related matters.   He will be responsible for a department that reportedly has
more than 300,000 employees, nine million enrolled veterans being served at 150 medical
centers and 800 outpatient clinics, and is the country’s largest workers’ compensation
system.

“As a veteran himself and a proud member of a military family, Bob is deeply committed to
serving our veterans and their families.” said U. S. President Barack Obama in a statement
about McDonald’s confirmation.  “And as an executive with decades of private-sector
experience, he is uniquely equipped to lead the Department of Veterans Affairs, and to help
change the way the VA does business.”

High-fives U.S. Secretary of Veteran Affairs Robert McDonald!
